Vervet monkeys are guenons who have come out the forests and onto the savanna. They have adapted over the years and now live in riverine forest, savanna woodland and semi arid savanna. They have one offspring a year and on occassion will have twins they have a seven month gestation period.

Vervet monkeys are led by an alpha female, they have a very intricate social structure. They are not thieves but opportunists.
