Brown with tiny black dots all over it. It's a very light color under it's belly.
Living in woods with lot's of moss.
We found lot's of them! It was really small. They were very active!
I'm not sure if it applies to immature toads, but an unspotted belly usually means that it's probably a Fowler's Toad: http://www.enature.com/fieldguides/detai.... Since there are only two species of toad in Maine (the other is the American Toad with a spotted belly) there's a 50/50 chance of this ID being correct!
Great spot chebeague8!
I've ticked the "help me ID this species" box for you so that this will come up on the unidentified list & someone in the community can identify it for you.
