This 2,5 m tall tree is quite common at Uberlandia, Minas Gerais. The leaves that grow near the tip of the branches turn red, as seen in photo #3, and a flower blossoms right in the middle.
A planta pode variar entre o vermelho e o rosa e é muito usada em jardins.
As folhas vão se modificando em bracteas coloridas e a flor no meio é bem pequena.
