Hibiscus brackenridgei
The yellow hibiscus can grow up to 6 inches long. The flower can grow on a shrub or tree. It has five petals with crinkled edges. The flower has a red center with a yellow stamen. There are different colors of the hibiscus like red and pink. The leaves are in a teardrop shape with crinkled edges as well. They are a medium green color.
This spotting was found in Kapolei Knolls. The hibiscus can be found in the Hawaiian islands except for Ni'ihau and Kaho'olawe.
This flower is the state flower for Hawai'i. It is currently endangered. The hibiscus is endemic.
