Wild black cherry (Capulin in Spanish). Edible black fruit. My friend and his dog ate many of them. From a small tree.
It was an oak forest.

Thank you Cynthia Griffin for the ID. The Mexican subspecie is capuli, and it is known as Capulin in Spanish.
