Red ants

Description:

Spotted at basecamp for Alab Cave, Baggao, Cagayan. Unlike fire ants, these fold leaves of fruit trees to make their nest as in the last two photos. Their bite still burns like fire!

Habitat:

Makes a nest of folded leaves of fruit trees (mango, jackfruit, goyabano, etc).
