my neighbor recently got bit by a baby. He was hiling and he picked up a snake which he thought was a gopher snake. He was trying to show the snake to his kids. But then he saw the triangular head. But before he could lay it back it turned around and bit his thumb.
He walked back home with his hand held down. That was half an hour. It took another 30 minutes before the anti venom was ready. it was a good hour before he got help/ He survived it after spending a week in intensive care. Hew as all swollen up.
Maybe the fact that he was bit on his thumb might have saved him.
