Cyanocitta cristata
White-faced bird with a distinctive blue crest, back, wings, and tail. It has a hefty bill used to peck open a variety of nuts, acorns, and cocoons.
It lives in various habitats within its large range, from the pine woods of Florida to the spruce-fir forests of northern Ontario. Less abundant in denser forests, preferring mixed woodlands with oaks and beeches.
