White Fibrous Lerp Insects

Glycaspis (Glycaspis) sp.

Description:

They looked like maybe a very small white critter, but each had numerous white hair like things coming out of it. There were also white squiggles on the leaf. I've never seen this before.

Habitat:

These were found under the leaf of Cryptocarya hypospodia, or Purple Laurel or Rib-fruited Pepperberry at Mackay Botanic Gardens.
