Calotes calotes
The Garden Lizard is an agamid lizard found widely distributed in Asia. Total length including the tail is up to 37 cm . Two small groups of spines, perfectly separated from each other, above each tympanum. During the breeding season, the male's head and shoulders turns bright orange to crimson. Males also turn red-headed after a successful battle with rivals.
Occurring in a wide variety of habitats throughout the island up to ca. 1500m, including most anthropogenic vegetation around human habitations. They are largely arboreal
