Good to hear. I rescued a fledgling flicker once that was being mobbed by jays - kept it safe until its parents started calling for it, then released it to them

He ran into a window but he was a trooper he flew off about 30 minutes after this photo

SFShep is right. You could refine the ID as it is a Male Yellow-Shafted Northern Flicker. The black moustachial and the red nape are diagnostic.
