A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pseudochromis aldabraensis
Unlike other dottybacks, this one was shaped like and moved like a small ribbon. A joy to watch it swim. The color was almost too intense to look at.
I had this small fish in my tank for years. Its brain must have been about the size of a grain of salt, but it recognized me as opposed to neighbors or friends who visited my house and it would hide with strangers. It was less cautious with regular visitors, but most comfortable with me. I'd sit in front of the tank for hours to watch the inhabitants. This little guy would intensely check me out.
