Wild Ginger

Description:

Flat Canna-like leaves. Red plume of flower.

Habitat:

Growing in clumps at the Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary. This palce used to be called Kayal's Garden (Kayaler bagan) ...so maybe remnants of a garden plant now growing wild. Apparently a native of Malaysia.

Notes:

Also called Ostrich Plume and Pink Cone Ginger.
