Native tree slug

Cystopelta purpurea

Description:

In a dense grove of ti-tree (Melaleuca or Leptospermum) I found these interestingly different small slugs. About 35mm at their longest and mostly resting on the papery trunks of the ti-trees (Leptospermum or Melaleuca).

Habitat:

In a local nature reserve bordering a national park.

Notes:

According to Museum Victoria there are 11 species of slugs in Victoria but only 2 natives. This one can also be seen on Snow Gums thanks RachaelB... https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/22...
