Mule deer

Odocoileus hemionus

Description:

Large mule-like ears, and black-tipped tail. White throat patch and rump patch. The inside of the ears are also white.

Habitat:

These does we're still on their winter range, in sagebrush habitat.

Notes:

These deer share this area with bighorn sheep and Gunnison sage-grouse. The deer are starting to transition to higher elevation now, especially with the lack of snow out there.
