Tiare

Gardenia taitensis

Description:

Tiare flowers grow on a bush. The flower is white and usually has five to nine petals. Each flower is about 2-4 cm long. There are many leaves. The leaves are round yet pointed at the top and range from a light green to a dark green. The leaves are about 5-16 cm long and are glossy.

Habitat:

This siting was taken in Kapolei Knolls. Tiare is native to Tahiti. This flower grows best is areas that receive a lot of sun.

Notes:

This plant is Polynesian introduced. The flower is very fragrant and sweet smelling. Tiare can be used for leis and are great for wearing. Tiare can also be used to make perfumes.
