Fruit-piercing Moth

Thyas coronata

Description:

Noticed this very interesting moth today. Its around 2" in wing span. what was interesting is that I saw it sat in two positions, one was with its entire wings displayed to reveal a tiger print like inner wings and the other was ) second picture) it sat with that inner wings closed below its majorly brown wings. the wings had a heart shaped cut out as well, which looked like eyes from a distance. I gather it took the former position when it felt threatened. I may be wrong.
