Aquatic turtle about a foot across, lives in the pond at my home. Florida cooter?? Painted turtle?? The shell was mostly covered with algae, so I couldn't see it well.

The markings on the turtle are not right for a Painted Turtle, this is a Yellow Bellied Slider.
