Description:

Upright to sprawling and vinelike, smooth, bushy herbaceous perennial. Tiny pinkish flowers on upright or drooping raceme. Fruit is a small berry that turns bright, glossy red as it matures.

Habitat:

Dry or moist, generally shaded woodlands. .

Notes:

Berries yield a red dye.
