Description:

This "Flame Skipper" Orange Dragonfly is resting along the California Yuba River. I spotted 2 a couple years ago and haven't seen any since.

Habitat:

The Flame Skipper is Native to Southwestern parts of the United States. Its found hovering around warm ponds, streams, hot springs, public gardens and back yards.

Notes:

Like watching a flames in a fire, this dragon fly is quite hypnotizing. As it hovers its flaming orange body and wings so quick and gracefully from one place to another.
