Sagui-de-tufos-pretos (Black-tufted-ear Marmoset)

Callithrix penicillata

Description:

This is a endemic specie of Brazil´s monkey. Genus: Callithrix Family: Cebidae Callitrichidae.

Habitat:

It occurs in savanna areas of central Brazil. In this case, the focus was made on the southwestern state of Minas Gerais, in the National Ecological Park "Serra da Canastra" next to "São Roque de Minas" city. What stands out in the photo is the ability of parents carry their young on their backs. This species is well adapted to venture close to urban areas. It was a great opportunity to take pictures like these.
