Description:

Small body. long fanned tail. Very friendly. Very curious. Hovered near us and flew along with us as we walked.

Notes:

Flew along with us as we walked the first little part of the spit at Golden Bay (north part of the South Island of New Zealand). Maori call this little bird piwakawaka (see more here, http://www.nzbirds.com/birds/fantail1.ht...)
