The Carolina Holly is a small shrub tree, with green spiky leaves. During the spring red flowers grow from its branches. The plant has a deep root system with a light brown timber. It thrives in maximum sunlight but can adapt to lower light conditions,

Habitat:

The Carolina Holly was found within the systems of roots of others shrubs and trees; such as boxwoods and oaks.They are only found in the SE America in Xeric hardwood hammocks.
