Pipevine swallowtail

Battus philenor

Description:

This little guy was trying to cross the bike trail at huntley meadows. I'm not sure what it was feeding on as there is a limited supply of pipevine in the area that I spotted him. It may be worth going back there to look for Virginia snakeroot or Dutchman's pipes.
