Libellula axilena
This teneral was far from the water on a hot afternoon. Often mistaken for a Slaty skimmer or Great blue skimmer. The patern on the lateral view of the thorax is diagnostic. The great blue skimmers pale thorax mark extends to the wings. The Slaty skimmer thoracic pattern is simmilar to the Bar-winged skimmer but the Slaty lacks the spots at the nodes and the dark bars between the nodes and the stigmas.
