American Bullfrog

Rana catesbeiana

Description:

I must have startled this frog when I went close to the shore to photograph a water lily. It took a few minutes before I was able to spot the frog's head poking out of the water. The frog stayed motionless the entire time.

Habitat:

Oakland Lake, in the shallows, amongst lily pads.

Good find. Look into getting a polarizing lens - cuts out some of the glare from the water surface.
