Yellow-bellied Slider

Description:

A bunch of turtles basking on a log. They varied in size. There were also a couple of ducks sharing the log.

Habitat:

Swampy pond surrounded by woods, at Little Mulberry Park.

Hey Mandy. I think it is safe to update this spotting with the Yellow-Bellied Slider common name and scientific name (Trachemys scripta scripta). Maybe make a note that there could be other turtle species in some of the photos.

Hi Mandy. Nice photos! I love seeing turtles all lined up basking like that. There could be multiple species in these photos. I'm thinking that some of these are yellow-bellied sliders, Trachemys scripta scripta. The big turtle on the right in the 3rd photo has yellow markings on its head that look like a yellow belly slider to me.
