You see those on the instars, here's a clearer picture: http://bugguide.net/node/view/651773/bgi.... I'm not sure what exactly they are, other than areas on the abdomen.

Neat! What are the black, glassy circular structures—three small, one larger—on its dorsal abdomen? They're visible in the second photo, despite being blurry.
