Interesting comment Helena K. Which bit turns green when squeezed? If you're talking about the leaves it's because these juvenile leaves are protected by a wax coating. When you squeeze them you remove the wax.
Also this is an evergreen tree so doesn't really go in the 'Fall Into Phenology' mission. They say they want deciduous trees.
