A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Anathera polyphemus
Very large burnt orange moth with two small and two large "eyes" on the top of its wings. The wings are also covered in a fur like material. Antennae are very unusual it resembles the fronds of a Sago Palm. The front edge of the moth is lined with a grayish brown fuzz of "hair". Also the legs are covered in brown fuzzy "hair".
Click on the missions button on the top of the page...I think Moths of the world will be the first mission you see. For some odd reason the button says leave this mission...click on it & it will say join this mission..click on it & join. Then you will need to come back to your spotting and edit it....you'll see a spot for missions and Moths of the World should be there.
You might want to look around at the various missions and join any you think are appropriate for your spottings...good luck
I can do it for you if it gets too complicated
Hi Lisa ...you have some very nice photos...you might want to join the mission Moths of the World. Next week is National Moth Week
