White Lipped Tree Frog

Litoria infrafrenata

Description:

Small brightly green frog with a white line running from his lip like lipstick to the side of his body..stopping just past his front legs. Pale yellow to white underbody with little suction cups at his "toes". Golden brown eyes with a narrow slit of black in the center of the eye.

Habitat:

Australia

Notes:

Wikipedia says Australia..but I am in Louisiana...can anyone explain this?

Hyla cinerea is very common in la. The stripes on them are very variable. That is definitely h. Cinerea. It would be very unlikely for it to be anything else.

Hello again. This is not Litoria infrafrenata as I explained in my first comment. That is a New Guinea/Australia species, and the white on your specimen extends far past the "lips" whereas on Litoria infrafrenata the white stops at the shoulder. Please see the suggestion.

Hi I've just seen this. Wikipedia is correct. I have the species in my yard in New Guinea too. Here's one so you can compare http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/129... Yours is something else because of range, and also the white on yours extends past the lips. Maybe a Green Tree Frog, Hyla cinerea, e.g. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/147...
