Palamedes Swallowtail

Papilio palamedes

Description:

Dark brown butterfly with yellow stripes in a half circle on lower wings and spotted yellow on edge of lower wings. Butterfly has a narrow and short tail of sorts at the end of its lower wings.

Habitat:

Southeastern Louisiana in a rather rural area.

Notes:

Sorry for the poor quality..it was in flight and under a canopy.
