Wheel Bug nymph

Arilus cristatus

Description:

Six legs, clawed feet, small head, mouth tube tucked under, orange antenna, yellow spots on abdomen, gray body, small red spots.

Habitat:

Seen on a fencepost at Scoutland, on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, GA.

Notes:

Appeared to be stalking a small spider. Assassin bug? Kind of looks like a wheel bug, but didn't see wheel on back? Scouts nicknamed it a "shrimpsquito" because of it's unusual gait, small head and antenna position.
