Round-leaved Sundew

Drosera rotundifolia

Description:

Perennial herb that traps insects using a sticky liquid. The liquid contains a digestive enzyme that helps the plant extract the nutrients from the insect. The genus name Drosera means "dew", referring to the sticky droplets on the leaves.

Habitat:

Amongst moss of a wetland bog.
