arcoramphus papa
Red, yellow and grey markings on head, white ring around neck, black edges on wings. Weighed approx 15lbs if not more.
Also a dweller of the Audubon Zoo
Thank you Forest Dragon, that is one of the 800 species in my World book so I have doubled your suggestion.
Jessica, I found some information here http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/... which you and other viewers might find interesting.
This is a King Vulture. Wonderful coloration. They are indigenous to Central and South America.
Unfortunately that is often the case. It could be a fancy Pigeon from South America, I'm not familiar with that region. Looking through my books but not hopeful.
Possibly not a native species if it is in a zoo so perhaps you could ask the zoo, and next time you visit and take photos try to remember to make a note of the name(s) if they are displayed prominently. I do not recognise it.
