Catalan is an interesting language :-) The Spanish hago is close but faig is even closer to the latin fagus...

Oh..sry...didn't even imagine that Catalan and Spanish names are that different...anyway - a simple view on the catalan-wiki-site should tell instantly about the scientific name...

Lars, faig is beech in Catalan. Martin, you should not use common names in the scientific name field. Beeches belong to the Fagus genus.

What exactly is a "Faig"? This is wether a common nor a scientific name - not even in Spanish.
