Golden Green Stag Beetle

Lamprima latreillii (L. latreillei)

Description:

What a lucky day! I drove to the nearby bush to look for Christmas beetles today. After I stepped out of the car, I found a glittering green object lying near the back of my car and it is a golden stag beetle! (Unfortunately it is a dead one, but the body is intact and soft) This is the second time I have seen this beautiful beetle, the first time being Dec 2007.
