Helianthus annuus
Tall, very rough annual, 10 ft. or more. Solitary stem that branches. Twenty to twenty-five ray flowers surround numerous disc flowers. Large, rough, almost all alternate leaves.
They seeded into an area of sunny bare ground and seem quite happy.
