Orange wings, brown underside. 3 cm tall.
Brooklyn, New York. Rather close to prospect park.
Sat on a butterfly bush for about ten minutes, before flying away while I was taking photos. That's why I have only two photos.
The white marks on the underside of the hindwing identify this as a Question Mark - Polygonia interrogationis.
