a light tan color smaller than an adult but not a baby
found in the hay bales at my grandpas farm

I can't tell, but it looks like it has a white underneath. If that is the case it is a Deer Mouse not a House Mouse. The tail looks like it is varied in color from dorsal to ventral side.
