Long-nosed Lycid Beetle

Porrostoma rhipidium

Description:

A 20 mm beetle with brick-red ribbed elytra, black sculptured thorax, black head and serrated black antennae. The rostrum is long ( the same length as the prothorax)

Habitat:

The two mating beetles were spotted on kunzea in a nature reserve.
