Echinocereus engelmannii

Description:

Clustered cactus with yellow, brown and white needles. It will have magenta flowers when in bloom. This plant was about 1 1/2 feet tall.

Habitat:

Native plant in Creosote Bush Scrub at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

Notes:

Aka Calico Cactus, Strawberry Hedgehog Cactus, Engelmann's Hedgehog Cactus.
