Haliaeetus leucocephalus
This Bald Eagle was perched up in the tree while we pontooned by. Whitefish Lake chain in Northern Minnesota. Looks a bit like Dolly Parton with that chest!! ;-)

Thanks, Em...I'm FINALLY posting from my MN trip!! Not too many, but I hadn't posted any at all!! Duh...
Such a great series!
Thanks Jemma! Suzmonk, that sounds like me!! Trying to hide the window from co-workers! ;-)
Ha! Me, too. A couple of years ago, I was so obsessed with the Decorah nest that I kept the window open, but minimized (most of the time) on my computer at work. Built my work day around the idea of rewarding myself with little peeks as I completed tasks. Now, I don't watch as much ... but I still check in.
amazing feather arrangement!
Thanks, Suzmonk...Yes I have...I was obsessed with them a couple years ago, and I do check them out every so often during nesting season. There are also really good cams on the Xcel website - they host cams for eagles (they do have the Decorah nest as well as one or two here in Colorado), Great Horned Owls, Kestrels, Peregrines, and maybe Ospreys? Can't remember...but it sure is fun watching the little ones grow up!!
Very nice, Christy. Have you ever checked out a live bald eagle nest cam online? My parents and I have watched a nesting pair of bald eagles in Decorah, Iowa, for several years but there are others scattered around the country. Habit-forming, for sure ...
