unknown bird sign

Description:

A white feather laying on a forest shrub.

Habitat:

Spotted on spikemoss (Selaginella sp.) along transect in secondary coastal lowland mixed freshwater swamp forest/sago swamp forest.

Notes:

I observed both sulphur-crested cockatoos and Papuan hornbills in the area. I think there may be too much grey in the feather for the cockatoo. I don't know about the exact shades of white in the hornbill. Nevertheless it was a beautiful sign of wildlife, whatever species it represented.
