Hi Dudley. I think you would need to get shots of the gills (or pores) and the whole stem to be sure about an ID. The underneath is often far more important than the top view. It's also important to know exactly what they are growing from eg. live trees, dead trees, plain soil, other organic materials... even buried timber can be a trick. As you would know it's usually too risky to say fungi are edible from a single photo.

Doesn't look worth eating even if it doesn't make you sick. I'd suggest a Hygrophorus species.
