Unicorn Caterpillar Moth

Schizura unicornis

Description:

Found feeding on native rose leaves--R. carolina or R. palustris. Took a photo, then put him back on the rose bush. Reasonably warm fall weather.

Habitat:

Garden in mixed woods on edge of lawn/pasture.

Neat caterpillar. The adult looks familiar and must occur here in Mexico as well, but I've never seen the caterpillar.
