looks like a dog day cicada
It was fun although I thought it was strange that it picked the bubble wrap to molt. It was great because it was the first time I got to see it happen.
Indeed! But sounds like the kids got a two for one... get to watch a Cicada molt and then pop some bubble wrap ;)
It worked at a summer camp for mentally challenged children and the bumble wrap was for them to pop and enjoy but the cicada got there first. It was certainly a interesting place for it to pick.
Interesting spotting...how did he end up on bubble wrap?
