Athyma nefte subrata
A tiger striped-liked butterfly I saw in the school rainforest. Apart from details provided in photo, about 8.5 cm wingspan, no special behaviours - just sitting on a leaf raising its wings up and down as we crept closer for a better picture.
Found in a secondary tropical rainforest in Singapore.
This species has adapted to use warning colours on its wings - tiger stripes - to repel other undesirable animals.
