Honey Bee

Apis

Description:

Hey guys! This is Maria McMillen, and i found this bee at my home in Eatonton, Ga. My mom and I believe it to be a honeybee or Apis. The honey bees are attracted to plants with sweet nector. A honey bee may visit up to 50-100 flowers per day! They are known for their production and storage of honey. I found this honey bee on a butterfly bush. Formally it is called Buddleia, and produces masses of flowers and attracts butterflies, honey bees, and hummingbirds.

Habitat:

The honey bee prefers to live in tropical or heavily forrested areas. They are wherever there are plenty of plants and blooming flowers.

I think it was amazing that you found a honey bee. I never did find one, so it was really neat that you did.
