Description:

member of the Primulaceae. mat forming perennial,stems prostrate,terminating in small rosettes of leaves,densely imbricated,3-16mm long,entire,pubescent to glabrous. Scapes2-15 cm high, pubescent with long simple hairs: flowers fragrant, 2- several.calyx 2-3mm with long simple hairs,lobes as long as tube, lobes 2-5mm, white to cream with yellow at base.

Habitat:

Calcareous sand and gravel and rocky tundra.Amphi-Beringian. In Yukon found west of longtitue135 west.

Notes:

Found these on a well drained bluff by the klondike river, 29 km Out of Dawson City, Yukon, canada, growing with dryas and some small ferns in a mat. Heavenly scent! Wikipedia lists the species, but has no details for it.
